(Bismarck, ND) — The state fire marshal has released his preliminary findings on the North Dakota wildfires. Fire Marshal Doug Nelson released a statement Thursday saying early indications suggest no evidence of intentionally set fires in northwestern North Dakota. The statement said an official cause of origin report will be available when the investigation is complete, typically taking one to two months.
