(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota Senate has failed to override Governor Doug Burgum’s veto of a bill that would have banned approval voting. Burgum’s veto will stand after a vote yesterday to override it failed gather enough support for a two-thirds majority. The legislation would have also banned ranked-choice voting. Both voting methods are used by Fargo in some city elections.
