NDFS Performing Controlled Burns Near Bowman

(Bowman, ND) — If you live in the Bowman area, don’t be worried if you see smoke on the horizon this week. The Williston Fire Department is working with the North Dakota Forest Service to perform controlled burns in the Little Missouri Grasslands. Crews will be burning brush gathered from pine-thinning operations in the area, and the smoke will be visible through Friday. The goal is to improve the health of pine trees in the area and reduce fuel for potential wildfires.
