(New Salem, ND) — The City of New Salem has issued a boil water order after learning the water was exposed to animal contamination because of a breach in the water storage facility. Animal contamination can carry microbial pathogens that cause waterborne disease outbreaks. All residents are advised to boil all water for at least a minute before drinking it.
