(New Town, ND) — Officials with the New Town Airport are trying to secure funding so they can extend the facility’s runway. Airport officials say they’d like to extend to runway by northwest-facing runway by 300 feet in order to meet minimum state requirements for certain aircraft, such as those engaged in medical air-ambulance service. Authorities say they hope to be able to put the project out for bid next month with a projected late-summer completion date.
