North Dakota Anglers Reeling In Big Walleye

(Bismarck, ND) — Anglers in North Dakota are hitting the river again, but say there’s something a little unusual about this season’s catches. The walleye they’re catching are bigger than normal. North Dakota Game and Fish says a typical walleye is under 20-inches long, but recently, there have been a lot of 25-inch and even 30-inch catches. There are two reasons, and the first is that the fish have had great food sources and environments to grow in recently. In addition, more anglers are using modern technology like sonar to specifically find big fish.
