(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota has elected its first woman to the U.S. House of Representatives. Republican Julie Fedorchak won Tuesday’s election against Democrat Trygve Hammer by a wide margin. The 56-year-old Fedorchak is a Williston native and recently served as Public Service Commissioner. North Dakota was one of only two states that had never elected a woman to the House. Her campaign focused on securing the border and fighting inflation.
