(Bismarck, ND) — Today is opening day for Canadian Goose hunting season in North Dakota. This means that waterfowl resting areas that are typically closed to hunting during the off season will now be open. The goal of goose hunting season is population control of locally-breeding geese, who’s numbers remain high. Anyone interested in obtaining a goose hunting license can fill out an application at the North Dakota Game and Fish Department website. Hunters are being reminded that most waterfowl rest areas are on private land, and they may need permission to access them.
