(Bismarck, ND) — A powerful winter weather system has brought North Dakota’s first big snow of the year. Heavy snow fell across a large portion of the state, with some areas seeing significant accumulations. A full foot of snow fell near Dickinson, eleven inches fell near Stanley, with several other areas seeing up to eight inches. The snow also created hazardous driving conditions, causing some cars to roll or slide off the road. The snowfall is expected to taper off throughout today.
