(Seoul, South Korea) — North Dakota and South Korea are announcing an energy research partnership. Monday, Governor Burgum signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korean officials to work together on energy and carbon capture technologies. Burgum is on a trade mission to South Korea accompanied by the CEO of the University of North Dakota Energy and Environmental Research Center Charles Gorecki, Commerce Commissioner Josh Teigen, and Trade Office Executive Director Drew Combs. Burgum wants North Dakota to be carbon neutral by 2030.
