North Dakota State Parks Get Upgrades For Increased Accessibility

(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department has added new equipment for guests in state parks. The new additions are designed to make visiting the parks accessible and enjoyable for people of all abilities. At the end of the month, state parks across North Dakota will receive color-blindness correction glasses, so color-blind visitors can enjoy scenery in the parks more fully. Lake Metigoshe State Park will also receive motorized trackchairs, which will allow those with limited mobility to navigate the park’s trails. The Parks and Rec department says adaptive kayak and canoe launches will also be added at several locations.
