Oldest North Dakotan Passes Away

(Grafton, ND) — North Dakota’s oldest citizen has passed away at age 113. Clarabell “Grandma D” Demers died yesterday morning at Unity Medical Center in Grafton. She turned 113 in November, and people who knew her considered her a local celebrity. She was an avid bowler, and continued playing in a league until she was 106. The community also recently mourned Helene Sandvig, who was the second oldest person in North Dakota when she passed away on December 5th at the age of 112.
