(Cass County, ND) — One person is injured after crashing a semi into a train on Saturday. North Dakota Highway Patrol says the semi pulling a trailer was driving eastbound on 25th Street Southeast in Cass County, but didn’t stop when the automatic crossing arms lowered. Highway Patrol says the semi hit a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train as it was heading northbound across the street.
The semi driver, 36-year-old Jose Garza of Texas, was taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Fargo, about 40 miles southeast from where the crash occurred. His injuries are described as non-life-threatening. The crash remains under investigation and there’s no word if charges will be filed.
