(Bismarck, ND) — A significant majority of North Dakota’s primary voters surveyed are in favor of deep-sixing property taxes. According to a recent poll, 70 percent of polled respondents said they wanted the tax to go away compared to 30 percent who said it should remain. Proponents of ending state property taxes say they’re still gathering signatures for a petition to put the matter to a statewide vote in November. That petition reportedly needs another 40 thousand additional signatures before it can be submitted to state authorities.
