Possible Update on Grand Forks Police Chief Coming Today

(Grand Forks, ND) — Grand Forks may have a new police chief by the end of the day. The city’s human resources director tells the Grand Forks Herald they’re still working through the process but she hopes to have more information to share by the end of the week. The job opened up in September when Mark Nelson retired after more than 30 years with the department. Five finalists remain for the job including three internal applicants, a patrol commander from the UND Police Department and a police captain and SWAT commander in Madison, Wisconsin.
