(Bismarck, ND) — A petition that would drastically change North Dakota’s voting system is back on the table after being withdrawn. The proposal was introduced late last month, but was shelved just ten days later. However, the petition was resubmitted on Monday, making a major overhaul of the state’s voting system a possibility once again. If passed, the legislation would replace voting machines with paper ballots only, do away with early voting, and only allow absentee ballots to be mailed upon request and within a limited window of time. The proposal will need more than 31-thousand signatures to be placed on the ballot.
