(Washington, D.C.) — Former North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum could be confirmed as Interior Secretary in the Trump administration as early as next week. A report from Politico yesterday says Burgum is scheduled to go before the Energy and Natural Resources Committee on the 14th. This, after 25 members of the Republican Governors Association signed a letter to Senate leadership urging Burgum’s swift confirmation. The letter, in part, states Burgum’s commitment to bringing “innovative solutions, common sense, and creative problem-solving to the agency.”
