Proposal To Eliminate Property Taxes In North Dakota Introduced

(Bismarck, ND) — An initiative that would essentially get rid of property taxes in North Dakota has been proposed. Earlier this week, the petition arrived at the office of Secretary of State Michael Howe. The initiative is being lead by Bismarck state lawmaker and businessman Rick Becker. The petition says that property taxes would be replaced with “property tax revenue replacement payments” provided by the state. The Secretary of State’s office is required to provide a response to the proposal by June 28th.
