(Williams County, ND) — The Williams County Sheriff’s Office says there’s been a rash of callers trying to scam people out of their personal information. Officials say you should be wary of callers who contact you offering money or a reward for information, or ask you to send them money through a wire transfer or gift card. The callers may pretend to be a loved one in an emergency, and sometimes ask for money for a debt that doesn’t exist. If you get a call like this, you should report it to the Williams County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line.
