Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Receiving Millions For Road Work

(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota Department of Transportation is giving the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe more than 18-million dollars to go towards road reconstruction. The funding will go towards the reconstruction of the Bureau of Indian Affairs Highway 6. The money was awarded via a grant called RAISE, which stands for “Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity.” The program helps state and local governments with transportation infrastructure projects.
