(Bismarck, ND) — A state audit of the Bismarck Public Schools has found some concerns with the district’s procedures. The audit released yesterday was initiated by a citizen petition and reviewed a period from July 2022 to June 2023. Two areas of concern involved two construction sites which lacked proper personnel oversite and the lack of proper policies to avoid conflicts of interest for staff members and vendors. The audit says during the construction of Silver Ranch Elementary School and Legacy High School the selection committee didn’t include a registered architect or licensed contractor. The Legacy High job also failed to include a registered engineer.
