(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota wildlife officials are optimistic as the state’s deer gun season begins this week. The North Dakota Game and Fish Department says deer numbers “are trending up so far” and that many twins and fawns are being born. Officials say there is a “slight” EHD outbreak among whitetail deer in the western part of the state, but it’s not close to the level of the EHD outbreak from a few years ago. The deer gun season officially kicks off this Friday at noon.
