(Bismarck, ND) — Victims of domestic violence in parts of North Dakota now have access to expanded forensic medical services. That’s thanks to a new state-funded pilot program and the approval of Senate Bill 2202, which set aside 250-thousand in grant dollars to go toward the effort. The purpose of the services is to document and collect evidence from victims of domestic assault. A large portion of the money went toward Central Dakota Forensic Nurse Examiners, which began expanded services in Williston and Bismarck at the beginning of the month. Some of the funding was also awarded to Safe Alternatives for Abused Families in Devils Lake.
