State Fire School In Minot This Weekend

(Minot, ND) — Firefighters from across North Dakota and surrounding states will be in Minot this weekend for the annual state fire school. Many of these first responders are unpaid volunteers. Instructors are setting the stage for a fire simulation in a home, and beater cars are in place for a lesson on vehicle pile-ups. More than 850 students from some 350 fire departments, some from Montana, South Dakota, and Minnesota, along with 75 instructors will spend the weekend honing their skills. They have classes for beginners to chief officer level, with topics ranging from water rescue to grain bin extraction.
