State Health Officials: More Than 100 Whooping-Cough Cases In ND So Far This Year

(Bismarck, ND) — Health officials in the state are looking into an outbreak of whooping cough. State officials say cases are up almost four times the amount as last year. In 2023, North Dakota reported only 17 cases of whooping cough, with all but one traced to Cass County. As of last week, health officials had confirmed 102 cases across 16 counties. Cass County remains the biggest offender, home to more than half of the state’s whooping-cough cases so far this year.
