(Bismarck, ND) — Some North Dakota House lawmakers want to bring back a pandemic rule that allowed remote voting. The North Dakota Monitor says the House Rules Committee voted unanimously Tuesday to give the House speaker authority over whether lawmakers can participate by remote during floor sessions or committee meetings. Republican House Speaker Robin Weisz of Hurdsfield said a member would have to have a good reason to request remote participation. Voting by remote is already allowed in the state Senate. The full House will vote on the rule change today.
