(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota lawmakers are debating a state bill that would provide property tax relief. The House bill would increase North Dakota’s primary residence tax credit from 500 dollars to about 15-hundred dollars for the current two-year period. Inforum says the bill is being spearheaded by Bismarck Republican Mike Nathe, who said the state already allocates over a billion dollars in property tax relief yet people don’t know they are receiving the support. During his testimony Tuesday, Governor Kelly Armstrong said that when he was campaigning last spring, property tax relief was still the number-one issue brought up by voters.
