State Receives Money For Contamination Cleanup

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota has received three-point-five-million-dollars in federal money to clean up contaminated sites. The efforts will focus on sites in McKenzie County, Fargo, and the Dunseith area. Abandoned buildings in all three areas contain hazardous materials such as lead and asbestos, and the money will allow for those sites to be cleaned up. The contaminated properties include old hospitals, schools, and fairgrounds. The goal is to redevelop the sites for housing and parks.
