(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota Supreme Court is hearing arguments to reinstate the abortion ban. Last September, a federal judge in Bismarck signed an order officially repealing North Dakota’s abortion ban, claiming it infringed on a woman’s fundamental rights to liberty. On Thursday, the state Supreme Court heard oral arguments to appeal the judge’s ruling. A State attorney is arguing that North Dakota’s constitution defines human life as beginning at conception, and that their sole interest is protecting unborn lives.
