(Mapleton, ND) — No injuries are reported after a train hit a semi tractor-trailer near Mapleton. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened early Thursday on a dirt road with no crossing gate. The initial report says the truck was traveling south when it proceeded through the crossing as a westbound train was approaching, and that the train hit the trailer behind the truck. No train cars were derailed, and the 27-year-old driver of the truck was issued a citation for failure to stop at a railroad crossing.
