(Fargo, ND) — Fargo residents should expect to see an increase in their utility bills. At a recent city commission meeting, the commission voted to increase the city’s franchise fee from two-percent to four-percent. In addition, the city is also proposing an increase in the fee for street lights and forestry, along with an increase in property taxes. Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney says inflation is hitting the community hard, making these changes necessary. A vote to approve the city’s 2024 budget is set to be held in late September.
