Vote Expected Today On CO2 Storage Wells

(Bismarck, ND) — State officials are considering whether to allow millions of tons of carbon dioxide from ethanol plants to be stored underground in North Dakota. The North Dakota Monitor says the state’s Industrial Commission is expected to vote today on plans for underground storage wells operated by Summit Carbon Solutions. The wells would store carbon dioxide produced from ethanol plants in five Midwestern states. The three injection wells would be located in Mercer and Oliver counties northwest of Bismarck.
