Ward County Facing Shortage of Leaders

(Minot, ND) — Ward County is facing a shortage of leaders. There are three openings on the Ward County Board of Commissioners; the seats held by Shelly Weppler, Jim Rostad, and Howard “Bucky” Anderson. However, only two candidates submitted petitions in time to get on the ballot; Weppler, and Jedidiah Rader. Anyone else wishing to run would now have to get at least 300 write-in signatures on the June ballot. If nobody qualifies, the county may have to appoint someone to fill the empty seat.
