(Minot, ND) — Ward County leaders are putting together a task force in the wake of recent opioid lawsuit settlements. County commissioner Shelly Weppler says the task force will be led by First District Health Unit, the region’s public healthcare provider, and will include officials from the Ward County Sheriff’s Office, Minot Police, and the city’s legal team. The city has about ten-thousand-dollars in settlements, while the county has about 50-thousand-dollars, and the state has millions to spend. The county also anticipates receiving funds from pending lawsuits with other drug companies.
