(Minot, ND) — A Minot shelter is being sued for more than a million dollars by Ward County on claims the shelter received double funding for a project. According to the lawsuit, Ward County reimbursed the Project BEE shelter for completing the Broadway Circle project. The one-point-three-four-million-dollars were approved through an agreement with the American Rescue Plan Act. The lawsuit goes on to claim that Project BEE also received funding “for the same expenses” from the City of Minot. The attorney for Ward County says double-funding for the same project is prohibited by the American Rescue Plan Act.
