(Morton County, ND) — North Dakota Health and Human Services has confirmed the state’s first case of West Nile Virus so far this year. Health officials say a person in Morton County contracted the virus and was hospitalized. There’s no word on their current condition. The virus causes fever, headache, body or joint aches, and a rash, and in rare cases can be fatal. There were 58 cases of West Nile Virus reported in North Dakota last year.
