Whooping Cough Cases On the Rise in ND

(Bismarck, ND) — Case of whooping cough are on the rise in North Dakota. State health officials say there have been 73 cases this year, compared to 17 in 2023. This year’s number is one of the largest since 2012. Danni Pinnick with North Dakota Health and Human Services says it’s normal for cases to pick up every ten years or so as the population’s immunity changes. She recommends staying up to date on vaccines.
