(Williston, ND) — A Williston man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for shooting at police in 2022. It happened while officers were talking to Eric Obregon during a traffic stop, and officials say he shoved an officer, took off running, and fired several shots at the officers behind him as they chased him on foot. Police returned fire during the pursuit, and Obregon suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. He pleaded guilty last year to possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
