(Williston, ND) — The Williston Police Department is warning locals about two scams circulating in the community. The first involves scammers posing as police officers and calling people, saying they have a warrant for their arrest and claiming they can stop the warrant by paying them with gift cards. The other involves scammers posing as Homeland Security officials, calling and saying a package has been confiscated, and then asking for personal information to release the package. Police say you should hang up if you receive these types of calls.
