Woman Arrested For Smuggling Suboxone Into Grand Forks County Correctional Center

(Grand Forks, ND) — A Cavalier woman has been arrested for allegedly smuggling Suboxone strips into the Grand Forks County Correctional Center. Investigators say Elaine Longtine sent the drug, which is used to treat opioid disorder, into the facility hidden inside a greeting card in April. The strips were found by facility staff, and investigators say they were told that Andrew Stenerson was arranging for the drugs to be sent to inmates inside his unit. Longtine was arrested on Monday, and she’s charged with conspiracy to deliver or possess with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a correctional facility. Stenerson is also charged in the case.
