Woman Pleads Not Guilty In Fraudulent Check Case

(Bismarck, ND) — A Bismarck woman charged with trying to steal money by passing a fraudulent check has pleaded not guilty. Police say Denise Cowan tried to deposit a nearly 20-thousand-dollar bogus check drawn against Concrete Placement LLC at Capital Credit Union. She pleaded not guilty on Friday and she remains free on bond. Her trial is scheduled to begin on May 16th.
