Women Business Owners To Take Challenges To Washington

(Bismarck, ND) — Women business owners across North Dakota are planning to take their challenges to the nation’s capital. According to the Small Business Administration, nearly 43-percent of establishments in the state are female-owned. Executive director of the North Dakota Women’s Business Center, Christy Dauer, told Minot Daily News that the increase in opportunities doesn’t mean traditional barriers have disappeared. She says it can be a challenge to access loans and have a proper work-life balance. Dauer is expected to travel to Washington D.C. in a couple weeks to call on lawmakers to help expand outreach programs for women.
