(Des Moines, IA) — Plans to expand the Des Moines International Airport are moving forward. The Airport Authority Board voted Thursday to approve the 445-million-dollar budget that will cover the cost of the first phase of a new terminal for the airport. The new terminal will be built just north of the current one and groundbreaking is set for October. The news comes as Des Moines International Airport officials say traffic at the airport is at record numbers this year.
