Canadian Wildfire Smoke and Haze Returns in the Midwest

(Des Moines, IA) — Drifting wildfire smoke from Canada continues to bring a noticeable haze in the air across the region. Air quality remains in the healther to moderate range across Iowa. However, there are several other parts of the Midwest which are seeing much lower air quality as a result. EPA air monitors were reading unhealthy air quality in Omaha, Nebraska early Monday morning, but have since improved. Meanwhile, moderate to unhealthy air quality has spread across most of Wisconsin and Michigan’s upper peninsula.
