Crash Occurs In Coon Rapids Construction Zone

(Coon Rapids, MN) — Merging traffic in a construction zone resulted in a two-vehicle collision in Coon Rapids. The crash happened earlier this week between Round Lake Boulevard and 7th Avenue, when a truck and a car collided as they navigated a “zipper merge” in a construction zone. A zipper merge occurs when a two-lane road is restricted down to one lane, and can often lead to fender-benders, or worse. The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the accident.
