Crews Extinguish Fire At The University Of Minnesota

(Minneapolis, MN) — Fire crews battled a three-alarm fire that engulfed student housing at the University of Minnesota. On Saturday afternoon, firefighters were called to the scene along University Avenue Southeast and quickly began working to put out the flames. The fire reportedly traveled up the building’s garbage chute and spread into the attic, prompting firefighters to enter the building to extinguish it. The fire also caused part of the roof to collapse. Thirty-one people reportedly lived in the building, which has since been condemned.
