DOJ Expected To Reveal Results Of Investigation Into MPD

(Minneapolis, MN) — The U.S. Department of Justice is expected to reveal the results of a years-long investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department tomorrow. The investigation was launched after the death of George Floyd at the hands of former MPD officer Derek Chauvin in 2020. Investigators are looking at whether the department engaged in any unconstitutional practices related to its policies, handling of misconduct allegations, and use of force. U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and others from the Justice Department are reportedly holding a press conference on the matter in Minnesota tomorrow.
