(Mankato, MN) — A driver is facing charges after trying to escape from police in Mankato over the weekend. Mankato Public Safety says the driver was fleeing from a traffic stop on Saturday night when his vehicle went over an embankment and into a creek and retention pond. The unidentified driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was taken into custody. Police say he could face charges of fleeing in a motor vehicle, driving under the influence and driving after his license was revoked.
