(East Grand Forks, MN) — East Grand Forks City Council President Mark Olstad has announced that he’ll be running for mayor. The news comes after current East Grand Forks Mayor Steve Gander announced that he won’t be seeking another term. Instead, he’ll be running to fill a seat in the Legislature being vacated by Representative Deb Kiel, who is retiring. Olstad was first elected to the City Council in 2012 and has been the council president since 2015. He says if elected, he wants to improve the quality of life and promote opportunities in the city.
