Firefighters Battle Wildfire From Ground And Air

(Grand Marais, MN) — Firefighters are working to put out a wildfire burning in Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. On Wednesday, fire crews used two water-bombing airplanes and a helicopter to drop water onto the blaze near Spice Lake. Other firefighters approached the fire by canoe in an attempt to control the fire from the ground. According to the U.S. Forest Service, the fire has burned an estimated thirty acres so far.
